Fantastic space for hanging out and chatting with friends. While it is quite small, the energy of the community of regulars has become really vibrant. Great coffees, and the Persian Latte had a fragrant saffron syrup. Pastries I had were also very good and excited to come back to try more. I don't know why social media made me think this is a matcha cafe (?) It's okay to be baited to come over for any reason. The local artists displayed in the cafe are worth seeing, and now I'm eyeing a couple pieces. Perhaps not the best place to whip out a laptop and work! It's really a spot to chat with people.

Stumbled upon this lovely café by accident, and I’m so glad I did! Sipping on their special tea blend while listening to Farsi jazz music on a rainy day felt really nice. I even snagged a bite of my sister’s donut—it tasted great! Chatting with the wonderful café owners was a delight, and I’m really rooting for their new venture. Best of luck to them!

Randomly found this cafe last night on google maps. I was intrigued by the Persian Latte. From the moment I walked in, I felt so much warmth. The owners are absolutely the sweetest. I got the veggie wrap on Sangak bread and it was so delicious! Before i left I caved and grabbed an iced orange hot chocolate with a double shot. It was the most perfect mocha I have ever had! I can’t wait to be back in Van and stop by again! Thank you so much for the food, coffee and conversation ❤️ Side note, supporting local artists in store too!!! LOVE THAT!

This is one of the best coffee shops in Vancouver! The food and coffee are phenomenal. We had the veggie wrap, fesenjoon sandwich, cappuccino, and Persian latte. Everything was delicious. They also get 5 out of 5 stars for the great music. The owners are very nice and hard working. They're building a great community in their coffee shop.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. I found Yar Café on Broadway after seeing an Instagram reel about this adorable little spot owned by two wonderful people originally from Iran who also spent time in Turkey. You can feel that influence in the most beautiful way throughout the menu. The reel talked about how they worked their asses off in true immigrant fashion to build this café on a shoestring budget, and you can absolutely feel the heart behind it the second you walk in. I’m currently sipping their Persian latte with oat milk and it is hands down the best latte I’ve ever had. Truly. It’s made with their house made syrup with cardamom, saffron, and rosewater and the combination is unreal. Warm, floral, slightly sweet, perfectly balanced. I already know regular lattes are going to disappoint me after this. The space itself feels so community focused. They feature local artwork and it is some of the nicest art I’ve ever seen displayed in a café. You can tell they genuinely care about supporting other creatives. And the owners are just the sweetest humans. You can see it immediately. Kind eyes, welcoming energy, the type of people who make you feel instantly at home. Five stars on Google, but truly a 10 out of 10. Go support this place.

An absolute gem of a cafe! Their pastries are incredible!! the croissants and baked goods are perfectly flaky, buttery, and beautifully made. I tried one of their unique coffee blends with hints of rose, saffron, and cardamom, and it was truly sublime 🫠 What makes this place even more special is that they curate stunning artwork from local artists, which adds so much character and soul to the space. Highly recommend!

Love the coffee and beverages here. They offer unique, subtle, and genuinely delicious takes on classic drinks. I especially recommend the Persian latte and Persian-style tea. But as good as the food and drink are, they’re topped by the warm, attentive service. We’re officially regulars now.

I’ve been here twice now and it’s already become one of my favorite cafes in the city. ♥️ The Persian Latte and matcha are both great, as are the dates stuffed with nuts - can’t wait to try more of their drinks and food items in the future. The owners are very kind and friendly. The atmosphere is amazing: so relaxing and warm, everything from the decor to the lighting. The perfect place to relax, read a book, do some work, catch up with a friend… and I love that they sell artwork and items by local artists. Definitely adding to my cafe rotation ♥️

Cafe Yar Vancouver is honestly one of the best cafés I’ve been to in Vancouver! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, welcoming, and full of good energy. But the real highlight for me was the coffee — it’s absolutely next level. The flavor is incredible, perfectly balanced, rich, and super smooth. You can truly taste the quality in every sip, and it’s obvious they know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to brewing. The coffee here is genuinely outstanding and unforgettable. And don’t even get me started on the bakery items 😍 Everything is fresh, delicious, and so well made. The pastries are full of flavor and pair perfectly with their amazing coffee. We went to this place last night, and it was one of the best places I’ve ever visited in Vancouver. We ordered the veggie wrap and the fesenjoon chicken sandwich, and both were extremely delicious. When you eat the veggie wrap, you can really feel the perfect balance of vegetables, cheese, walnuts, and dates. The hot chocolate was perfect — not too sweet, but rich in chocolate flavor. The owners are some of the cutest and kindest people I’ve ever met. The place feels like their home, and they served us with such care and warmth. At the same time, they are absolutely professional in what they do. I highly recommend this beautiful, artistic place if you’re looking to spend a lovely time and enjoy high-quality food and drinks. 🤍✨

Partner and I visited Yar Cafe this morning and both of us agreed itll be part of our Saturday morning ritual 💕 we ordered hot chocolate, latte, and pistachio baklava. Hot chocolate is so good and rich! My partner said its comparable to what she had living in Belgium. Their latte is also pretty good! One of the best I tried in Vancouver. My fav is the baklava - very nutty and balanced in sweetnesss! We forgot to take photos cause we just dove right in the food and drinks! The ambiance is also great, with lots of natural light! The walls are adourned by arts from various local artists (which are also for sale). The couple who owns the place were so friendly and welcoming!💕 Overall a lovely cozy cafe in our neighborhood! Cant wait to come back and try other things on the menu!

The couple that run this cafe are super sweet, and the food and coffee are amazing! I love the integration of Iranian/Persian culture, it helps this place stand out from other cafes in the area. I’ve been a couple times since they opened, and I’ve loved my latte, Eggnog latte, and the baked goods have all been incredible. Don’t sleep on the sandwiches either, super great.

Baklava was rich and not too sweet, and both our drinks were delicious (hot chocolate rich and very chocolatey, not too sweet, latte was solid). The man and woman behind the counter were so lovely (I believe they are the owners?). Over-all prompt service too. Highly recommend a visit!

Quite literally my favourite café in Fairview. The two owners are incredibly warm, welcoming, and thoughtful towards their customers. The pastries and food are some of the best in the area, especially the coffee and teas I've personally tried (Persian Latte / Tea is awesome!). Perfect to bring a friend, chat, work from with a laptop, or even just get something to go (nearby area is great to explore). So cozy!

The coffee is truly high quality — well-balanced in flavor, neither overly bitter nor watery. You can tell they really pay attention to the beans and the extraction process. The beef and chicken sandwiches are a real highlight: tender, juicy beef and a uniquely flavorful chicken that I honestly haven’t tasted anywhere else. Fresh bread and a perfectly satisfying portion. Great coffee paired with a solid, well-made sandwich makes this place an excellent choice for a quick yet high-quality meal. I’ll definitely be back.

This is one of my new favorite spots! The atmosphere is super cozy and welcoming from the lights to the music and friendly owners! There is a great variety of local artists on display including prints, pottery, and sculptures. I've been twice and got the Persian Latte both times, it was just too good I needed another one! And the Persian breakfast wrap was amazing with the mint, cheese, and dates combo. Overall, it feels very homey and comforting, its a great place to just hang out and enjoy the day!

I stopped by after my shift as a treat to myself, and I was not disappointed. The food, coffee, café in general, and owners are super sweet. I was unsure as to what to get, but they recommended the tiramisu danish and mocha for me, and it was perfectly what I needed after a long night. I love the idea of incorporating local art! I couldn’t resist and left with a print myself hehe. The vibes were so cozy and welcoming too. The danish was absolutely wonderful, not too flaky, the right amount of filling too. The mocha was so, so good, I wish I got one for the road. I had a decaf mocha with whipped cream, and there are four different types of chocolate in the drink itself. The best part of the mocha was that it was not too sweet as most are. As soon as I looked down, it was gone! I'm hoping to come here more often in the future! There are so many lovely art pieces and items on the menu I want to be able to snag!

Such a lovely café! We ordered their “saffron iced latte”, which is their special drink, and it was absolutely delicious. We also tried their herbal tea pot, which was comforting and fragrant, perfect to pair with the pastries. Everything was well presented and tasted fresh.
